Manager’s Notes:

The Young Owls Under 12’s set off strong this year with some hard preseason games against the top teams in Leeds, Nottingham.

Joe Taylor (Goalkeeper) and Joe Denton were brought in to strengthen the side and we were looking forward to an exciting season

The introduction of agility and fitness training has seen the boys work even harder in training, taking on  board new challenges to their game and rising to the development plans put in place.  

A mixed bag of results has followed with the team wining 5, drawing 2, and losing only 2 , which should set us up for our targeted top 3 finish

Only in football though can something be so cruel as we found out in the last 30 seconds of the second half of extra time in our cup game. After dominating most of the game we were 30 seconds away from taking the game to penalties only to concede in the last minute.

The boys are playing some excellent football and even in some atrocious weather conditions the boys continue to play the game in an attractive manor which is a joy to watch

Several players have been introduced to taking on different positions throughout the early games this season and this is a true testament to how they are growing as players and the versatility they have at such a young age.

Competition for places is beginning to heat up and we will looking to bring in one or two players next year after the squad reduced to only 13 players recently
