About Young Owls
Welcome from the Chairman
As Chairman of the Sheffield Wednesday Young Owls I would like to thank you for taking the time to visit our website.
I hope you find it interesting and informative.
On behalf of the committee, staff and players, I would also likes to show appreciation to all of our sponsors for their kind and generous support.

Background
The club was established in the early 1980’s by Steve Woodhead (son of ex-SWFC player Dennis Woodhead) and John Hinde who is still employed as a manager today.
The club operates under the umbrella of SWFC’s Community Programme. Each year we enter 10 teams (U7 – U16) in to the Sheffield & District Junior League and are proud of the fact that most our sides compete in the ‘A’ division.
Development
The club achieved FA Charter Standard in 2005 and only employs qualified and experienced managers who along with their assistants and other helpers are all CRB checked and have attended child protection courses.
The club strives to provide for its players good facilities including SWFC’s training ground with a new G3 surface for training and our excellent home ground pitches at the Sheffield Hallam University Ground, Bawtry Road, Sheffield.
We as a club work in partnership with the SWFC Academy and each season are one of their main suppliers of new recruits.
Several of our players have gone on to represent the SWFC first team including Richard Hinds and Steve Haslam and many others have gone on to play at professional and semi professional level at other local clubs.
